15.8.2012 - Regret Trailer #1

The first trailer video for the upcoming album "Regret" can be watched here. The video includes pieces of four new tunes. I'm having a hard time finding anyone interested in actually releasing the album.

By the way, today it's exactly five years since the release of my first album Dead People's Trails.

30.6.2012 - A new interview

I was recently interviewed by the Damned by Light webzine. The article includes some good questions and a few new photos. You can read it here.

On the other news my remix of Barry Adamson's single Destination will be included on the deluxe edition of his new album I Will Set You Free.

29.3.2012 - A Barry Adamson remix

Few months ago I participated in Barry Adamson's remix competition. The three winners have now been picked and my remix is one of them. Adamson's music has been very important to me for years so this is a nice honour.

You can listen to the winners here.

24.11.2011 - Mixtapes

The new album is now finished but I still have no idea when it will be released. To kill time I created a couple of mixtapes of tunes that I find inspirational.

  • Mixtape #1 - "Round About Midnight"
  • Mixtape #2 - "While Our Hearts Were Young"

    29.8.2011 - Regret

The working title of the new album is "Regret".

    15.8.2011 - A new tune

A new tune uploaded. This one's never been published before. It was recorded while I was recording my third yet unreleased album. This one didn't fit in. I still wanted to release it though. So this is a hint too: there's no room for cow punk in the third album.

31.7.2011 - The album number three

The track listing of the new album is set. There will be 12 tunes and it will be much longer than my previous works. Still finetuning and trying to find the right sound. Almost there. The album's been recorded during two winters and two summers and during a taxing emotional turmoil. I think that can be heard in the end result: there's hot and cold and ugly and beautiful. The music is much more personal than before. Every track is a memory. There's quite an amount of "saudade" involved, at least for me. I already have a title in my mind but I'll keep that as a secret for now. Instead I can give you some track titles: "I Feel Nothing", "I feel Everything", "The Past Doesn't Exist" and "Only When I'm Drunk". Unfortunately I can't tell you anything about the release yet, but hopefully soon I can. I can't wait for you to hear the album.

    28.6.2011 - A bass player wanted

Last week we played our first live date in over a year and it went fine. It reminded me of our first time ever with people sitting in a small room listening. It was a nice way to get warmed up again. We played two new tunes that will be on my third album. One of them is kind of a sad waltz while the other is quite an exotic tune with swinging organs and smooth string and guitar melodies.

Sadly this was also the last time we played with our bass player Kari. He announced us that he is going to retreat to a monastery somewhere. He was the best bassist I've ever played with and I wish him all the best.

We already have plans of who might be Kari's replacement but nothing's set to stone. So if there are any interested bass players around who fill the requirements below feel free to contact me through this website.

Finally: I'm still working on the new album. I have 12 tracks and about one hour of music almost finished. This is kind of the hardest part, to hit the last nail on the coffin and let go.

    11.6.2011 - A new live date

We'll be playing at Hirvitalo, Tampere on Wednesday 22.6. There will be some other performers too but that is not yet confirmed. More information will be added here later. Our plan is to play two new tunes.

    19.4.2011 - A new tune

I just added a new tune here. It's released only in the internet and it's called "Lovely Bone Structure". It can be downloaded at Bandcamp.

8.9.2010 - Digital download of Nausea available

My second album, Nausea, is now available as digital download at Bandcamp. This is the only official site for downloading Nausea. There's also five music videos, rare photos, posters etc. as bonus material.

The CD version of the album is still available at Verdura Records.

    11.8.2010 - A new video

    Watch the video

There's a new video for a Nausea tune called Fumes. You can watch it here. You can also watch it at Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook and Myspace.

24.7.2010 - My tribute to Rowland S. Howard

I contributed with few words to Swampland's Reflections on Rowland S. Howard.

Photos from our last April's show at Nosturi have been added. One picture includes us with the headlining act Bohren & der Club of Gore.

The third album is in the making. There will be a longer break now than between the first two albums.

24.2.2010 - Two new shows in Helsinki

We will play at Oranssi on Saturday, March 20th. There's a two day festival called "Jozik Fest II" and we'll play on the second day.

We also just got another date at Nosturi on Friday, April 23rd. We will be the support act for Bohren & der Club of Gore. That's OK with me. You can buy the tickets at Tiketti.

Both of the shows are for all ages.

    10.1.2010 - Piss Ennui

Last autumn I hooked up with an old friend. During few inspired weeks we recorded an album full of songs under the name Piss Ennui. The results can now be listened at Myspace and freely downloaded at Bandcamp.

We also made a video for a song called Impotent Blues.

There's a short interview in BangBang Radio Show's website. It's dubbed in Hungarian, but you can read the English transcript here. The program has interviewed James Johnston, Hugo Race and Terry Edwards among others so I'm in a stylish company.

    23.4.2009 - More reviews

Couple of positive Finnish album reviews have emerged: Desibeli.net and Imperiumi.

    14.4.2009 - Nausea reviewed

Nausea has been reviewed in Rumba (in Finnish). The review is fairly nice except that it begins with a false fact and ends with unargumented meanness.

    31.3.2009 - Nausea pre-order and a new live date

Nausea can be pre-ordered at the Verdura Records Shop for 12 Euros. The shop ships internationally.

We will play at Vastavirta-klubi in Tampere on Sunday April 19th. The other bands are 80th Disorder and The Alibies.

13.3.2009 - Nausea release date and trailer video

Cook was right (of course). Nausea will be released on April 15th. Like the first album Nausea will be released only in Finland and will be available for international orders through internet stores.

A trailer video for Nausea has just been released. You can watch it here or at Youtube.

    3.3.2009 - April

The ghost of Elisha Cook Jr. just told me that Nausea will be released in April. I find him quite trustworthy.

    28.2.2009 - A new tune

I just added a tune here. It's a leftover from Nausea and it's called "Talking to Birds".

    22.2.2009 - New photos

There a three new photos from our show in Turku. We played a couple new tunes from the upcoming album Nausea.

26.1.2009 - A new live date and a new tune

I will play with my band in Klubi, Turku on Friday 13.2. It'll be a Club Raw evening. Karoshi Lovers will play there too.

A new non-album tune has just been added here. It's called "Arthritis". You can listen to it with the player below and you can also download it from the mp3 section.

    24.1.2009 - A short film

"Romantic Dreams" from my first album is used in a short film called "Arming Finland - Killing is My Civil Right". You can watch it in LiveLeak and Totallyupyours.com. The film accompanies a petition to remove hand guns from Finland.

    9.11.2008 - A record deal

My second album will be released next spring by Verdura Records. More information, free downloads and videos will surface during the months before the album's release.

    25.10.2008 - Downloading the music

While Myspace hasn't offered downloads in a while you can still download my music in Last.fm. There are five full tracks and seven short preview clips from Dead People's Trails.

21.9.2008 - Henry Waldén is dead

Yesterday Henry Waldén, the guitarist of Varjo and Angelica Kult, died at the age of 30 of carbon monoxide poisoning at friend's home in Helsinki. Besides playing in bands he was also a sound technician and he seemed to be always doing something regarding music. I always admired his style - he lived rock'n'roll. There are some people like that (not Jon Bon Jovi but Iggy Pop) and they never seem to do anything wrong. What made him special was that he was able to control his rock'n'roll so he could also be creative and productive at the same time.

It was always great to know that someone like him existed. I feel terrible and I miss him, but it comforts me to know that he made a good use of his life.

    31.8.2008 - Recording finished

The recording of my new album is mostly finished. There is still some mixing and mastering left to do. There will be ten tracks on the album.

    19.5.2008 - New photos

There are new pictures in the photos section. The pictures were taken in our latest two Tampere shows.

I've been working on new music lately. There are six new pieces ready at the moment.

    30.3.2008 - Turku show cancelled

Our show in TVO, Turku (5.4.) has been cancelled, because a band scheduled to play there with us pulled back.

    15.3.2008 - Shows without Timo

Our two shows without our drummer Timo are now behind. Too bad not many people showed up to witness me kicking a floor tambourine. I might keep it as a habit.

    15.2.2008 - Three new shows

Three new shows have been confirmed. We will be playing at "Fuck, It's Around Your Neck!" club held in Yo-talo, Tampere at 12.3., Dynamo, Turku at 14.3. and Kuudes linja, Helsinki at 2.4. Timo can't make it to the Yo-talo and Dynamo shows so we'll have to play without a drummer.

20.1.2008 - New video and photos

There is a new video for Full Moon and Dry Humour. The footage was filmed by Iines at Kuudes linja, Helsinki on 28.12.2007. It can be viewed and downloaded at the videos section. Four pictures from our Kuudes linja show have been added to the photos section.

31.12.2007 - New shows, photos and music

28.12.2007 Kuudes Linja, Helsinki Our show last Friday at Kuudes linja went nicely. There are two pictures at the photos section. I'm very happy with the way our last two shows have gone. I've managed to find myself a fine live band quite easily.

We have two shows confirmed for the spring: Sunday March 23rd at Klubi, Tampere and Saturday April 5th at TVO, Turku.

There is a new piece in the MP3 player. It's called "Dilligaf" and it was recorded during the Dead People's Trails sessions, but I didn't include it in the album.

    5.12.2007 - A new show and a new review

We will play in Death Discotheque held at Kuudes linja, Helsinki on 28th December.

There is a new review of my album at Noise.fi.

    25.11.2007 - New photos

    12.9.2007 - Review, photos and mp3's

Dead People's Trails was reviewed in the newest Sue magazine. The review is in Finnish. It is quite positive. Heroin and Your Veins is once again referenced being a project which is incorrect. Projects have goals and I don't have one.

Photos from our Tavastia show have been added.

Some foreign mp3 stores have made my album available for download.
    France: Fnacmusic.com
    Germany: Musicload.de and MP3.de

    2.9.2007 - A live review

There is a live review of our Tavastia performance at Desibeli.net.

    31.8.2007 - The night before

Just like at Ratakatu Squat our performance last night went fine. It was our first time on a big stage and venue. First it looked like the hall would be almost empty, but couple minutes before we started the audience tripled. People listened politely and some seemed interested. Our set was same as on our first show, but this time we were a little more rehearsed. It was very nice from Magenta Skycode to invite us to play before them. They are a friendly bunch of men.

Photos will be added here later.

    30.8.2007 - Tavastia

Tonight we will perform at Tavastia Klubi. Pentti Luomakangas will play baritonesaxophone with us.

    25.8.2007 - Dead People's Trails as MP3

    24.8.2007 - Live photos

Our first live performance went fine. The Ratakatu Squat is a cosy small place and there were cosy young people listening, mostly sitting on the floor. A nice low-key beginning. Next Thursday it'll be Tavastia then.

Live photos from last night have been added.

    17.8.2007 - Reviews

My album has been reviewed in Rumba and Desibeli.net. Reviews are in Finnish.

15.8.2007 - The album and the live band

There is a new video online called "Romantic Dreams, Perverted Dreams". You can view it in the video section.

My mp3's and videos can now also be found in Last.FM.

26.5.2007 - Album release pushed back to August

The release of my album Dead People's Trails has been delayed once again. Now it seems that it will be released in August. This is what happens when you are making music that is not making any money. I'll try to keep this delay as the last one.

I'm starting to get tired on sitting on the album. I listened to it today for the first time in few weeks and I was glad to find out that it still sounds fresh to me. I'm proud of my album and I can't wait for someone else to hear it too.

I'm planning now some sneak peeks at my album that I will add here during summer. Most likely they will be in the form of video.

    15.5.2007 - Music in Kuvake.net

My music can be listened also in Kuvake.net.

    4.5.2007 - Album cover

Liner notes have been added to the music section.

21.4.2007 - The album has been mastered

The mastering of Dead People's Trails is now ready. I've already added new mp3's to the mp3 player above and Myspace and Mikseri. Some final touches are still to be done for the album cover. It will be revealed soon.

    31.3.2007 - A new record deal

My record deal with Quiet Life Records has been pulled down due to outside reasons. There are no hard feelings.

The album will still be released as I have signed a deal with Solina Records. It will still be distributed by Playground Music Finland. The release date will be announced as soon as possible.

    24.3.2007 - Album postponed

The plans for releasing my album took a step back. It will be postponed, but it's not sure yet how much. I'll let you know when things evolve.

Dead People's Trails will be distributed by Playground Music Finland.
